The spine is our skeletal axis in which the spine protects our spinal cord. The spinal axis extends to the head and it comprises of an assortment of protective and interconnected parts that helps the human body to move easily. Thus, whiplash can affect your mobility. The spine houses the backbone, which is the essential part of the body that gives us physical power or strength. The spine supports our entire body and mind too because there is where your central nervous system resides.

When a person suffers whiplash it can cause them to lose memory, or experience unconsciousness. There are three types of brain injuries the doctor will consider when a person suffers from whiplash and those injuries comprise of fractures, hemorrhaging, and trauma-impact brain injuries. There is no such thing really as a minor head injury, thus any type of injury to the neck and head can cause a person to lose consciousness or memory. Whiplash affects the brain through the spinal column and causes concussions in some instances and the spine and head when injured can lead to major problems. The problem may develop immediately, it could go on for weeks, months, or even years before symptoms will develop.

Understand that doctors find it difficult to diagnose, or concur, whiplash, but if you have, symptoms that relate to such injuries your doctor can assess the situation more effectively and conclude. Whiplash is a dangerous injury that may lead to serious complications later, including paralysis. While this is rare, there are some instances paralysis occurs and mostly it is because the condition was left untreated.
